TGR EDU: Explore Wins at The Social Good Awards
We have some exciting news to share! TGR EDU: Explore, our digital site launched in partnership with Discovery Education in 2017, came away a winner at The Social Good Awards presented by Cynopsis Media.
A finalist in the Use of Talent & Tech to Promote Social Good category, TGR EDU: Explore was up against some steep competition, including National Geographic Channel and Microsoft’s #MakeWhatsNext initiative and The Daily Show & Truth’s Go Away Big Tobacco campaign.
Held at the Yale Club in New York City on Tuesday, May 22, Cynopsis Media’s The Social Good Awards honors civic-minded professionals who find a way to utilize the media industry as a tool for social good. We’re proud to say that TGR EDU: Explore was a first-place winner in the Use of Talent & Tech to Promote Social Good category!
“It was an honor to be recognized by Cynopsis Media for our work with Discovery Education on TGR EDU: Explore,” said Dr. Katherine Bihr, Vice President of Program and Education at TGR Foundation. “We continue to be committed to providing educators and students around the world with access to excellent instructional materials that have been proven through our programs. This award motivates us to raise the bar even higher.”
A proud partner with Discovery Education, TGR Foundation offers students the tools they need to re-envision their future and prepare them for career success. Through our dynamic digital platform, TGR EDU: Explore, we’re able to offer STEM and college-access lesson plans, interactive modules, webinars, training videos and a Virtual Field Trip to Facebook to students, educators and families, at no cost.
“The STEM careers landscape is rapidly evolving and students flourish when provided with opportunities to see careers that exist beyond their classrooms,” said Stacie Kronthal, Vice President, Account Partnerships and Implementation, Discovery Education. “Discovery Education is thrilled to partner with TGR Foundation to inspire students to solve real-world challenges through STEM and access to postsecondary education, and we are honored to be acknowledged by Cynopsis Media for our intentional work.”
Since launching last year, TGR EDU: Explore has reached nearly 500,000 students. By next year, TGR EDU: Explore will have 30+ assets and offer 30+ hours of content in STEM and college-access.
TGR Foundation is excited to be recognized by Cynopsis Media and The Social Good Awards as a leader in leveraging tech and talent to promote social good!
