Three Tips for Hosting the Ultimate Masters Watch Party
April means one thing in the golf world: the Masters. From the highly coveted lottery for grounds tickets to the pristine and exclusive golf course at Augusta National, the Masters has a unique approach to every element of a golf tournament. Our founder, Tiger Woods, knows a thing or two, or four, about the Masters. Planning to watch the Masters this week? Our Director of Events, Gina Ekmekjian, compiled a list of the top three things you need to know to pull off a great Masters watch party at home.
-
Get your pimento cheese sandwiches ready!
Indulge in this classic sandwich that is a staple at Augusta National Golf Club during Masters week and will be a delight at your gathering.
Ingredients:
3 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded yellow sharp cheddar cheese
4 oz. crumbled blue cheese
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 (4-oz) jar sliced pimentos, drained
1 cup light mayo
2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 loaf of white bread
Directions:
Combine cheeses, pimentos, mayo, and mustard in a food processor and process until smooth. Cover and chill. Spread on bread slices. Makes four sandwiches.(From the book Par 3 Tea-Time at the Masters by the Junior League of Augusta, GA.)
A fun tip – create green paper pin flags, attach to toothpicks, and add them to each of the sandwiches for a little extra Masters touch.
-
Customize your golf-themed décor and plan your wardrobe accordingly
Masters merchandise is in high demand and only available at Augusta National. Ever had a friend go to The Masters? Have you been to the Masters? Style your wardrobe with your best Masters look before indulging in aforementioned pimento cheese sandwiches and watching the pros chase the green jacket at the first men’s major of the year.
Missing official Masters wear or decor? Do not worry, just simply gather items that include the traditional colors of the Masters, green and yellow. From shirts to hats to table cloths and desserts, you can incorporate the Masters color palette into your party in a variety of ways.
-
Plan your day strategically
