Volunteer of the Month: Ashlee Dawson

We’re proud of the work we do here, and even prouder of the support system we have in place. Alongside our talented and dedicated employees, we have a robust group of enthusiastic volunteers that help keep our programs running smoothly.

Our volunteer program currently has 60 active participants that can be found in our classrooms, at our front desk, on the driving range or in our admin offices. Whether they help out weekly, monthly or several times a year, our volunteers are integral and invaluable to what we do. Today, we celebrate our April 2017 Volunteer of the Month: Ashlee Dawson.

Ashlee learned about the TGR Learning Lab Volunteer Opportunities through VolunteerMatch.org. She is passionate about reading, writing, and theater and uses her passions to help others and give back to her community.

Always in search of new ways to help others, Ashlee has experience volunteering in elementary classrooms and Meals on Wheels. She volunteers at the TGR Learning Lab every week, assisting instructors with the Day Program and occasionally with the Reception Desk.

She has built great rapport with our fifth-grade students, constantly encouraging and guiding them to succeed at their tasks, whether hands-on activities, writing, or even following directions.

She doesn’t hesitate to take initiative and is always willing to assist staff and instructors, no matter the job. When she was asked whyshe continues to volunteerat the TGR Learning Lab, shesimply said she loves to helpothers and wants to see students reach their fullpotential. Ashlee works wellswith our team and is a hugeasset to our programs. Herpositivity and smile are makinga difference at the TGRLearning Lab, one student at atime. We are proud torecognize Ashlee as our Volunteer of the Month.

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to work at our TGR Learning Labs. For more information or to apply to volunteer at our Anaheim, California, facility, please review the info packet and application.
