The Blue Crew celebrated for another successful year

Deutsche Bank Championship could not operate without the more than 1,500 volunteers who dedicate their time throughout the week. The annual volunteer appreciation party is our way of expressing gratitude to entire Blue Crew.

This year’s party was supported by CBS Scene who provided food and beverages to the hungry guests after a long days work. Mike Antolini, volunteer chairman Danielle Sicard, Deutsche Bank CEO Jacques Brand and PGA TOUR pro Brandt Snedeker expressed their gratitude to the volunteers who make this tournament possible.

Blue Crew volunteers had the opportunity to meet Snedeker as he signed autographs and posed for photos after his heartfelt thank-you speech.

Volunteers from all over the globe sign up for the Blue Crew. Some of the volunteer’s even traveled from overseas, including Doede Keuning and Joose Van Loben Sels who traveled from their home of Holland to the United States for “a unique experience” involving sports.

As golf fans and avid golfers themselves, the Deutsche Bank Championship seemed like the perfect trip. Having visited the Masters two years ago for their traditional trip, they knew volunteering on the practice range would allow them the one-of-a-kind opportunity they wanted.

Volunteer Challenge

The PGA TOUR Volunteer Challenge, sponsored by Myrbetriq, is built to recognize volunteers who dedicate their time to helping tournaments run smoothly while raising funds for charity. As part of the program, Jeannette Thomas, a first year Blue Crew member on the Cart Services Committee from Milford, Massachusetts, won the Deutsche Bank Championship Volunteer Challenge. Jeannette secured 588 votes from friends, family and coworkers at EMC, the local presenting sponsor of the Deutsche Bank Championship. Thanks to Jeannette’s hard work and all the efforts of the Blue Crew, a $10,000 donation check was presented on behalf of Astellas Pharmas US, Inc. to the Tiger Woods Foundation.
