Remembering Tiger Jam I
Before Vegas, before Shadow Creek and before Darius was known as Darius, the inaugural Tiger Jam kicked off the fundraising for TGR Live in 1998. Tiger Jam I was held in Los Angeles and featured an incredible lineup of The Eagles, Hootie and the Blowfish and Babyface. It was “One of These Nights” in 1998 when TGR Live was the “New Kid in Town.”
Tiger Jam I set a high bar for TGR Live with a roster of A-list guests and artists. Eagles icon Glenn Frey served as event emcee and performed with the Eagles while Jay Leno filled in between set changes with stand-up. Kobe Bryant and John Elway were on-hand to support Tiger in his first charity event.
Since then, Tiger Jam has enjoyed 18 years of success. The event has raised nearly $20 million which has benefited thousands of youth around the country. TGR Live events, such as Tiger Jam, have been instrumental in supporting the mission of the Tiger Woods Foundation over the past 20 years. In that span of time, Tiger Jam has been a annual favorite on the charity event calendar. Bringing together golf, music, poker, celebrity and charity like no other event.
As Tiger Jam 2017 brings Darius Rucker back to perform along with Kate Upton, Chris Paul, Wesley Bryan and other special guests attending to support Tiger and his foundation, countless new memorable experiences will be had by all.
