Mom, Dad! I’m going to Disney World!

The Tiger Woods Charity Playoffs (TWCP) is a series of regional tournaments played at some of the world’s most prestigious golf courses. Winners from each regional event, as well as any team that fundraises a minimum of $10,000 for charity, will join Tiger Woods at the finals in Orlando, Fla. Anyone can become a champion on and off the golf course, and earn the experience of a lifetime.

First up, the prestigious Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.! On June 3, participants played a round of golf on the exclusive U.S. Open course where all-time greats such as Dave Stockton, Ernie Els and Rory McIlroy have won major championships.

Twosome Tony Cavasilios and Andre de Moya took home the cup, carding a 63 for the day. They will be traveling to Florida to compete in the finals. Here’s what our first TWCP winners had to say about their unique experience:

How did you hear about the Tiger Woods Charity Playoffs?
We heard about the Tiger Woods Charity Playoffs through some friends. As Tony and I read the description, we were excited to play at a great course for a great cause.

What were your methods for fundraising? How did you share your interest in the cause?
We raised money through our network of friends and business connections. When we described what we were doing, people supported us on the cause and the opportunity to work with a great foundation.

What was your favorite part about playing Congressional? Did you have a favorite club in the bag?
The best part about playing Congressional was the beautiful layout and the history behind the place. It’s in our backyard, and we were excited to play. Favorite club in the bag that day was the putter!

What advice would you give to future TWCP participants?
The advice we would give to future participants is to have fun with it. As you look at the courses involved, they are all great places, and it’s all for a GREAT cause.

What are you looking most forward to about the finals in Orlando?
We are looking forward to playing a challenging course and hope to get away from cold weather here in DC. And we plan on winning!
