Honoring our nation’s armed forces

The Quicken Loans National is a celebration of the D.C. region and our country. Since the inaugural tournament in 2007, the Quicken Loans National has recognized our military for all of their service, domestic and abroad. Between the military appreciation program, We Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall and the military caddie program, the Quicken Loans National will continue to honor those who have served our country.

Lockheed Martin Corporation, a proud supporter of the armed forces and their families, will once again serve as the tournament’s military services partner. The partnership with Lockheed Martin and their employee volunteers enable many of the military outreach efforts and activities all week long.

Complimentary tickets for military

Since inception, the Quicken Loans National has donated 30,000 tickets each year to members of our armed forces. All military ticket holders have access to the Lockheed Martin Military Pavilion, an upgraded venue on 17 green offering up close views of the action Wednesday through Sunday.

During the pre-tournament distribution, which begins June 1, over a dozen Washington, D.C., military bases will distribute tickets allowing military members and their families a great way to enjoy the tournament.

Military starters and announcers

Beginning June 23 at Congressional, spectators can see military members in an array of special programs. Members representing each branch of service participate as honorary starters on the first and 10th tees throughout the competition. In addition, two military representatives will be stationed near 18 green and will recognize the players as they complete their final round Sunday.

Military caddie program

Also on Wednesday, June 23, 26 local enlisted men and women will participate as caddies on the 17th hole during the Quicken Loans National Pro-Am.

USO Activity Zone

The USO invites all fans to stop by the USO Activity Zone, located on Main Street, to help assemble snack packs as part of the USO’s care package program. These snack packs will be handed out at USO locations to servicemembers as they deploy and re-deploy around the world. Spectators can help assemble the 5,000 snack packs Friday through Sunday of tournament week. On Wednesday and Thursday, fans stopping by the USO Activity Zone can send messages of support and gratitude to our servicemen and servicewomen.

We Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall

Displaying flags and seals from each branch of the military, the We Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall debuted at the Quicken Loans National in 2011. Each year, fans and players fill large canvases with personal messages to the troops. Make sure to sign the We Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall located near 18 green.
