Happy National College Colors Day!

In honor of National College Colors Day, we’re highlighting three of our newest Earl Woods scholars. National College Colors Day inspires students, alumni, fans and more to show their school spirit by wearing their college’s chosen colors and apparel on the first Friday of the college school year.

Here, our selected first-year students are sporting colors of the colleges they will attend this fall. From a refugee camp in Kenya to the halls of Harvard University, our Earl Woods scholars have overcome great odds and are looking toward bright futures. 

Ayub 
College: Dartmouth College
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Fun fact: Member of the debate team and photography enthusiast
Goals: “I want to leave a legacy for other ambitious students. I want them to look at my story and understand that they are just as capable of achieving success and overcoming any barriers placed in front of them.”

Anshi 
College: Harvard University
Major: Law/International Relations
Fun fact: Intern and former member of The Steppingstone Foundation, a non-profit preparing underserved children for opportunities in higher education.
Goals: “I want to be a mentor and help others realize the power they have in their hands to make a difference for themselves and others.” 

Fatah
College: Harvard University
Major: Engineering
Fun fact: One of eight siblings born in a refugee camp in Kenya before his family was chosen in a lottery to come to America.
Goals: “I want to use my education to create a better life for my family.”
