Field announced for 2016 Quicken Loans National
The 120-player field for next week’s Quicken Loans National was confirmed Friday. Hosted by Tiger Woods, the 10th annual Quicken Loans National begins Thursday, June 23, at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. The final field is subject to change prior to competition.
The $6.9 million Quicken Loans National field is highlighted by world No. 5 Rickie Fowler, defending champion Troy Merritt, world No. 12 Patrick Reed, 2013 tournament champion and 2011 FedExCup champion Bill Haas, former U.S. Open champions Jim Furyk and Ernie Els, World Golf Hall of Famer Vijay Singh, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III and PGA TOUR rising stars Justin Thomas, Smylie Kaufman and Patrick Rodgers.
The Quicken Loans National is Washington, D.C.’s premier annual tournament on the PGA TOUR and boasts an impressive roll call of champions — two-time winners Woods and Justin Rose, 2007 inaugural champion K.J. Choi, Anthony Kim, Nick Watney, Haas and Merritt. The tournament raises funds for the college access programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation and pays tribute to our armed forces.
