Academy excited with adventures outside the traditional classroom

Every summer, the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim, California, welcomes students, ages 11-13, to its annual Summer Academy. During the week-long camp, participants, most of whom are children of military families, explore the world of science, technology, engineering and math through a multitude of student-selected classes. Last week, campers enjoyed hands-on activities such as launching rockets, building robots, dissecting frogs and even visiting Disneyland!

First on the agenda? Rocket launches.

Funny faces appears as campers learned the ins and outs of dissection.

Childhood dreams came true when 140 kids spent a magical day exploring Disneyland.

Campers learned more than just the basics of cooking; they learned about food chemistry.

Next up? Building and racing robots!

Thanks to our generous sponsors, Summer Academy once again provided children of military families with hands-on STEM learning and memories to last a lifetime!
