The 2019 Tiger Woods Invitational, Much More Than Golf

The 2019 Tiger Woods Invitational presented by USLI wrapped a memorable three days on the Monterey Peninsula benefiting TGR Foundation. The sold-out, 9th annual charity event was one to remember with as many highlights off the golf course as on. Guests were treated to competitive golf at three of the country’s most scenic courses along with access to exclusive evening events and a golf exhibition hosted by Tiger Woods. All proceeds from the event benefit the educational programs of TGR Foundation

Upon arrival at Spyglass Hill Golf Course for day one of competition, guests were greeted with a lively atmosphere on the driving range complete with a personal styling of Maui Jim sunglasses, courtesy of USLI.

As the sun set over Carmel Bay, guests arrived at The Beach Club for the Welcome Dinner featuring a conversation with Tiger Woods and Doug Kimmelman, Founder of the Carol Kimmelman Athletic and Academic Campus. TGR Foundation has partnered with Doug to serve STEM education programs to underrepresented students from the LA area out of the 25,000 sq ft TGR Learning Lab at the campus. Their conversation highlighted the importance of education in their lives, the value of giving back to your community and common ties to their alma mater, Stanford University.

Day two of the Invitational brought the experience to the next level. Before guests took to the Shore course at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, they experienced a private golf exhibition hosted by Tiger Woods. Tiger led the guests through his warm-up and practice routine, while answering questions ranging in topic from shaping shots, the President’s Cup and the toughest course on Monterey Peninsula

Later Tuesday evening back at The Lodge, guests were able to practice what they learned from Tiger during the Glow Golf competition onto the 18th green at Pebble, an annual favorite of guests.

Tuesday’s reception at The Lodge packed in more than just the glow golf, with live music, old-fashion arcade classics like shuffle board and skee ball, fine wines, internationally inspired cuisine and premium carving stations.

The action on-course picked up day three as guests played Pebble Beach Golf Links with the same pin placements as the final round of the 2019 U.S. Open.

Also, guests hoped to return home living the pro-life flying private with the Private Jet Services hole-in-one challenge on 17.

While not every team remained in the hunt for the perpetual championship trophy, every guest enjoyed the once in a lifetime experience to play the iconic links under major championship conditions. The 2019 Tiger Woods Invitational culminated in Team Davis Love III winning the low net championship and Team Arnold Palmer winning the low gross title.

After three days of memorable moments on and off the course, the real winners are the students of TGR Foundation. With all proceeds from the event supporting the foundation’s programs, TGR Foundation will continue on with the mission of empowering millions of students to pursue their passions through education.
