Quicken Loans National media day: Through the social lens

The Quicken Loans National is officially underway as the event kicked off the tournament season with media day, Monday, June 8. See the day’s events through the eyes of our participants and guests.

Media day commenced the 2015 Quicken Loans National with appearances by tournament director Mike Antolini; Robert Trent Jones Golf Club’s Malone Schooler; Quicken Loans’ Art Steiber; and via satellite, two-time tournament champion as well as tournament host, Tiger Woods.

Take a look at media day from our media guests’ and participants’ points of view at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

“T‑Dub will be hidden throughout the DMV area,” Antolini said. “His whereabouts will be posted on our media channel, the official Twitter handle @QLNational, and those who find T‑Dub, snap a picture and tag us, will win Quicken Loans National tickets, autographed memorabilia and even get a chance to take a photo with this year’s champion at the 18th green trophy presentation.”

“We think it’s going to be a great event,” Steiber said. “We’re anxious to see Rickie representing Quicken Loans as he plays in this great event with just a world‑class field.”

Stay tuned for more Quicken Loans National player commitments in the coming weeks.

“You can set it up in ways that you can make a lot of birdies,” Woods said. “A lot of balls can funnel into the flags, or you can set it up like they did in the singles where no one makes birdies, and it’s going to be quite a test.”

After the press conference, media and guests played Robert Trent Jones Golf Club to see the conditions before 120 PGA TOUR players compete in the Quicken Loans National.
