Top 10 things to do at the Deutsche Bank Championship

With apologies to David Letterman and his legendary Top 10 lists, here’s our list of the top 10 activities fans can enjoy at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

10. Get social

Share your thoughts on what’s taking place on the course and off and connect with other fans by logging on to the DBC Facebook page and Twitter feed via @DBChampionship and using the hashtag #DBChampionship. You can also stay connected through the DBC website, DBChampionship.com.

9. Watch and learn

A great way to improve your own game is to see how the PGA TOUR’s best players work on theirs. Grab a seat in the bleachers located at the practice range, and you can watch players warming up and hitting balls all morning and into the early afternoon. And if you have a favorite player, watch him practice and then follow him around the course.

8. Snap, upload, share

Introducing the ESPNBoston.com Social Zone, an area located in Spectator Alley and the Champions Club, where you can snag some free giveaways or grab some props and snap a fun photo before uploading and sharing it to all of your social media pages.

7. Hang at the 16th

TPC Boston’s signature hole, the par-3 16th, provides a picturesque New England backdrop for fans to enjoy. Grab a spot in the grandstands on the right side of the green and check out the action. If you feel like something to snack on while watching the competition, check out the Spectator Oasis, which features a variety of concession stands, including the Beringer Wine Bar. The Signature Skybox and the 16th Green Sky Chalet are also here, making this one of the premier spots on the course.

6. And now a word from our supporters

The Deutsche Bank Championship has many corporate supporters who not only make the tournament run but also help provide a top-notch experience for fans. One such experience is the Fairway Fan Zone on No. 9. Located on the right side of the ninth fairway elbow, Fairway Fan Zone on No. 9 is the ultimate fan experience. This hotspot is packed with tents run by sponsors such as AT&T, Golfsmith, John Deere, Massachusetts Army National Guard, Nature Valley, Stryker, The Boston Globe, Tourism Ireland, Verizon FiOS and Visionworks. Each tent has special surprises and activities for fans.

5. Come and get it

Walking around watching great golf and getting involved in some or all of the fun fan experiences is sure to build an appetite. The Deutsche Bank Championship offers a wide variety of culinary experiences that are sure to leave fans full and happy. Among the choices: Michelob Ultra 19th Hole, Spectator Oasis, Ruth’s Chris Steak House Concession Tent (behind Michelob Ultra 19th Hole). Can you say, yummy?

4. Take a load off

One of the great things about golf is that it allows fans to choose what type of viewing experience they prefer. While some folks enjoy following a group or two from hole to hole, others prefer to sit and let the action come to them. If that’s your choice, wander over to the Spectator Commons that is adjacent to 18th green and close to 17th tee. From your vantage point you’ll see plenty of shots up close and also be able to see action on the Jumbotron.

3. It’s great to be a kid

The Deutsche Bank Championship wants all of its patrons to have a fantastic time and that includes the little ones. Enter the Kids Village, an area sure to make kids of all ages jump for joy. Play a round on our nine-hole mini-putt golf course, challenge yourself with the obstacle course and do a little jumping in the Moon bounce. And when the kids are tuckered out and looking to sit, they can grab a front-row seat in any of the Kids Zones. There they get unobstructed viewing at the first tee, ninth green, 10th tee, 16th hole and 18th green.

2. Cool shirt

Like any big event you attend, it’s always cool to take home a little something to remember the fun you had. Stop by the main merchandise tent behind the ninth green where you’ll find commemorative souvenirs for yourself, your family and friends.

1. Race for the Cup

With the Deutsche Bank Championship being the second leg of the FedExCup Series, fans attending this event will be treated to a field that rivals any of the four major championships. Golf’s top 100 will be primed and ready, hoping to build momentum that allows them to reign supreme at the end of the FedExCup race. It happened last year, as Henrik Stenson won the Deutsche Bank Championship and went on to win the FedExCup title.

Who will it be this year? Get your tickets now to ensure you’ll have a front row seat for all the action.
