A well-earned ticket

Starting today, 30,000 tickets to the Quicken Loans National will be distributed to members of our armed forces. Since the inception of the Quicken Loans National in 2007, more than 300,000 tickets have been distributed, and Lockheed Martin has played an incredible role in helping to provide tournament access to military members and their families.

For the past 10 years, Lockheed Martin Corporation, a proud supporter of the armed forces and their families, has served as the Quicken Loans National’s military services partner. The partnership with Lockheed Martin allows for the Quicken Loans National to host active military members for a day of relaxation on course.

“Supporting our men and women in uniform and their families is intrinsic to our culture,” said Brad Fisher, director of community relations at Lockheed Martin. “It has been an honor to partner with the Quicken Loans National and the Tiger Woods Foundation to provide this special experience for our military community and show our gratitude for their tremendous service to our country.”

For active duty members of the military, complimentary tickets provided by Lockheed Martin grant grounds access and entrance into the Lockheed Martin Military Pavilion. Located on 17 green, the Lockheed Martin Military Pavilion is an upgraded venue with soft seating, air conditioning and amazing views of golf from just off the putting surface.

Honoring our armed forces is something that was immediately important when the Quicken Loans National started.

“The military is very important,” tournament host Tiger Woods said at Quicken Loans National media day. “We used to have [the tournament] on July 4, on our nation’s birthday. So, for us to have the military, it was an integral part of my life. I grew up around servicemen and servicewomen. I grew up around Spec Op warriors all my life, and my home golf course was the Navy Golf Course. I got a chance to see and witness what they go through, and it’s not easy.”

Through Lockheed Martin, more than a dozen Washington, D.C., military bases will distribute tickets to the 2016 Quicken Loans National, allowing military members and their families a great way to enjoy the tournament. View a full list bases distributing tickets.

“When we first started 10 years ago, how important it was to have the military involvement here,” Woods explained. “Over 30,000 tickets are given away each and every year to people who are men, women in the service and all their dependents. So, it means a lot to us.”
