A National volunteer experience

‘Volunteers are the backbone of this operation’ is a quote heard often in preparation and execution of the Quicken Loans National within the Tiger Woods Foundation staff. A PGA TOUR tournament needs thousands of volunteers to make an event successful. Every single volunteer plays an integral part as they participate in all facets of the tournament. Player transportation, on-course hospitality, caddie services, scoring and the media center, you name it and volunteers handle it. Whether you love golf, community service or the National’s tie to the military, there are so many reasons more than 1,000 people love to volunteer annually.

Love to play golf and watch the PGA TOUR’s best? Volunteering at the Quicken Loans National is a dream come true for any golf lover. There are so many inside-the-ropes opportunities that give volunteers a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Ever wish you could stand next to one of the world’s best golfers as he sinks a tournament-winning putt? Now you can! Volunteering for a PGA TOUR tournament is unique from any other sporting event because you get the opportunity to interact with your favorite athletes.

Love helping the community? The Quicken Loans National and the Tiger Woods Foundation has supported the surrounding Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia community for more than 10 years. Proceeds from the Quicken Loans National help support the Tiger Woods Foundation’s three D.C. area learning centers and the D.C.-based scholars in the Earl Woods Scholarship Program. By becoming a volunteer, you are in turn directly assisting and supporting the Tiger Woods Foundation programs. A great experience for a great cause!

Love the military and celebrating the nation’s capital? A large percentage of current Quicken Loans National volunteers are active and retired military members. Originally played over Fourth of July weekend, the Quicken Loans National was founded on the pillar of honoring our military members. Since then, the tournament has set the bar on the PGA TOUR when it comes to paying homage to our nation’s armed forces. There are a number of military specific volunteer opportunities, including manning the We Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall and the military caddie and military starter program.

Next summer, declare the Quicken Loans National your National Volunteer Day and join our team at TPC Potomac, June 26-July 2. Create a memory that is sure to last a lifetime while giving back in a fun and unforgettable way.
