A club for all ages
The experience at The Riviera Country Club will be all new this February for the 2017 Genesis Open. In its first year managed by TGR Live and benefiting Tiger Woods Foundation, the tournament is expanding its activities and access for youth on course. With the TGR Learning Lab, youth viewing zones, autograph alley and free youth tickets, the Genesis Open shares the Tiger Woods Foundation’s commitment to empowering our youth.
Youth ticket policy
For golf fans 15 years old and younger, the Genesis Open offers a complimentary grounds ticket. Complimentary youth tickets can be picked up at the Genesis Open box office, located at the Main Entrance, when accompanied by a ticketed adult. For high school and college students, discounted tickets are available for purchase with a valid school ID.
TGR Learning Lab Youth STEM Activity Zone
The TGR Learning Lab is a cornerstone of the Tiger Woods Foundation’s youth education programming. New in 2017, all youth can visit the satellite TGR Learning Lab Youth STEM Activity Zone, which will be on-course next to 13 green. The zone provides STEM based interactive activities for young golf fans on course (suggested ages 10-16). This free activity will feature four sections for different learning experiences, including all four pillars of STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Youth will also have the opportunity to participate in a putting challenge and interact with a 3D printer.
Youth viewing zones
Experiencing golf up close and personal is important for young golf fans. The Genesis Open offers three youth designated viewing zones located at 8 green, 10 green and 13 green. These areas will have special access for young fans and feature an upgraded viewing experience directly next to the green.
On Saturday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m., the Genesis Open will host a golf clinic and exhibition for young fans. The free clinic takes place on the driving range and features an exhibition by a PGA TOUR golfer that will inspire even the youngest golfer.
On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, stop by Autograph Alley between 1-2:30 p.m. to get autographs from your favorite golfers. This youth-only area is located adjacent to 1 tee near The Riviera Country Club Clubhouse.
